An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred around noon on Sunday 25 October at 12.36 pm local time near the town of Gangtok, India, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 5 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt, based on preliminary calculations, include Gangtok (pop. 30,700) at a distance of 14 km with weak shaking, Singtam (pop. 6,100) at a distance of 18 km with weak shaking, Shiliguri (pop. 515,600) at a distance of 62 km with very weak shaking, and Jaigaon (pop. 158,700) at a distance of 80 km with very weak shaking.

#5: 4.0 quake: 9 Km Al Sureste De Tres De Junio, Costa Rica, 24 Oct 2020 15:423 reports
#6: 4.2 quake: 56 Km Al NORESTE De MATIAS ROMERO, OAX, Mexico, 24 Oct 2020 13:532 reports
#7: 4.6 quake: 33 km NE of Opotiki, New Zealand, 25 Oct 2020 09:142 reports

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake was reported only 20 minutes ago by New Zealand’s Earthquake Commission and Geological Survey (GeoNet), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in New Zealand. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 28 km beneath the epicenter late at night on Sunday 25 October at 10.14 pm local time. The magnitude, exact epicenter location and depth of the quake are likely to be revised within the next few hours as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service at VolcanoDiscovery identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.6 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Towns or cities near the epicenter that are likely to be affected include Opotiki (pop. 4,000) at a distance of 32 km with weak shaking, Whakatane (pop. 18,600) at a distance of 53 km with weak shaking, Rotorua (pop. 65,900) at a distance of 121 km with weak shaking, and Tauranga (pop. 110,300) at a distance of 124 km with weak shaking.

#8: 2.0 quake: 5km NW of The Geysers, CA, USA, 24 Oct 2020 17:152 reports
#9: 5.2 quake: 67 Km WNW of Kirakira, Solomon Islands, 25 Oct 2020 11:042 reports

A shallow magnitude 5.5 earthquake was reported late at night near the town of Kirakira, Solomon Islands. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam (GFZ), the quake hit late at night on Sunday 25 October at 10.04 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The magnitude, exact epicenter location and depth of the quake are likely to be revised within the next few hours as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) agency, which listed it as a magnitude 5.1 earthquake.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should have been widely felt by almost everyone in the area of the epicenter. It might have caused light to moderate damage.
Towns or cities near the epicenter that are likely to be affected include Kirakira (pop. 1,100) at a distance of 82 km with light shaking, Auki (pop. 6,800) at a distance of 160 km with weak shaking, Honiara (pop. 56,300) at a distance of 162 km with weak shaking, and Tulagi (pop. 1,800) at a distance of 165 km with weak shaking.
